WCS AWWA Young Professional Committee |

Young Professionals are generally considered to be members or prospective
members under 35, including those working for utilities, regulatory agencies,
consulting firms, or academic institutions. AWWA considers all of its members
to be water industry professionals. |
|
|
To develop programs of interest to young professionals in the drinking
water industry, to promote the benefits of membership in AWWA by increasing
opportunities for participation and career development, and to identify
younger industry members who can be encouraged to take an active, leadership
role in the Association. |

| Organize and assist in events in each major centre in Western Canada |
| Establish a contact list of YPs for easy communication |
| Establish a web page of YP information, activities, contacts and
updates |
| Host a networking event at the WCWWA annual conference (any proceeds
to Water for People) |

The Young
Professionals committee hosts a Pub-Nite each year during the annual WCWWA Conference.

WCWWA Conference Young Professional Networking Pub Nite
is planned for Tuesday, September 25th, 2006 at Shannon’s Irish Pub
