Purpose and BackgroundThe Western Canada Section
American Water Works Association ("WCS AWWA") Internet Privacy Protection Plan discloses how
WCS AWWA protects its members' and customers' privacy by controlling the use of
information WCS AWWA collects from them. WCS AWWA has created this Internet
Privacy Protection Plan to demonstrate its commitment to its members' and
customers' right to privacy. The following information discloses WCS AWWA's
information gathering and dissemination practices for this Web site: http://www.wcsawwa.net. Through its
interaction with you, WCS AWWA has various sources for member/customer
information, for example, membership forms, conference registration,
purchases, and Internet interaction. All information collected by WCS AWWA
is
stored in its central database, and the information from one source is not
handled differently from another source. Although the following provisions
constitute WCS AWWA's Internet Privacy Protection Plan, they apply in
principle to all customer/member information held by WCS AWWA.
Information Collected by WCS AWWAWCS AWWA
forms collect only the
information for which they ask you explicitly and which you enter in them.
WCS AWWA does not collect any information beyond form information. WCS AWWA
collects:
- Registrant information during conference registrations and exhibit space.
- Purchaser information during Publications purchases.
- Information supplied by registrants for courses offered through WCS AWWA.
- Presenter information submitted in response to calls-for-papers.
- New or changed member contact information submitted in a
change-of-address form, and contact information submitted in forms
requesting information about WCS AWWA membership, or in applications to
serve on WCS AWWA and Constituent Organization volunteer groups.
WCS AWWA will
modify this section as necessary as new features are added to http://www.wcsawwa.net.
WCS AWWA's Use of the Collected Information
As
a constituent organization of Western Canada Water and Wastewater
Association (WCWWA), information collected for WCS AWWA is administered by
WCWWA. WCWWA
uses the information internally and for WCWWA
marketing purposes.
Information used internally and for
WCWWA marketing purposes: Name,
address, fax, email, affiliation, job title and other similar information is used by
WCWWA to understand its audiences
and to offer member benefits and services to members/customers who are
likely to be interested in them.
WCWWA
does not market its member information to outside sources.
Data SecurityWCS AWWA
If we
change our privacy or security policies in the future, those changes will
be posted here so you always know what information we collect, how we use
it, and how we protect it.
