Background
One of the recommendations from
the 2001 Western Canada Section Cross Control Connection Committee (WEC
CCCC) strategic planning session was for the formation of a National Cross
Connection Control Committee.
Gary Coons, Chair of the
Western Canada Section Cross Control Connection Committee, presented this
recommendation to the WCS AWWA Board of Directors in October 2001 and
received approval in principal for the formation of a National Cross
Connection Control Committee.
Gary Coons then presented this
recommendation to the Canadian Affairs Committee (CAC) at their November
2001 meeting in Banff, AB. The CAC passed a motion, supporting in
principal, the proposal from the Western Canada Section Cross Connection
Control Committee for the establishment of a national steering committee
for cross connection control in Canada.
In January 2002, each of the
five Canadian sections was contacted, inviting them to a meeting to
discuss the formation of a National Cross Connection Control Steering
Committee. The meeting was scheduled for May 25-26, 2002, immediately
following the WEC CCCC meeting in Canmore, AB.
The above-noted individuals
attended the meeting. The Ontario and Quebec Sections were unable to
provide a representative to participate in this meeting.

that identified one preferred style when dealing with change, the
attendees dealt with the following agenda items:
